About
I am an Internal Medicine Physician with a decade of experience caring for acutely and severely ill patients. My journey began at Creighton University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in Greenville, South Carolina. I spent a transformative year at a rural hospital in New Zealand and another in Chile, where I adopted a gentler approach to medicine. I love teaching people to manage health and prevent chronic disease through nutrition and lifestyle.
In South America, I founded a non-profit to provide medical care to isolated indigenous communities. Their reliance on plant medicine, natural lifestyles, and their lack of chronic disease inspired me to focus on disease prevention rather than treatment. This led me to complete a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil, where I developed a passion for mind-body medicine, nutrition, and integrative therapies for mental health.
My commitment to nutrition deepened through a health-coaching program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and I obtained board certification in Obesity Medicine. Ultimately, my passion for learning, writing, and educating steered me toward a medical writing and editing program at the University of Chicago.
